SOLUTIONS FOR THE DISTRIBUTION OF MEDIUM VOLTAGE ELECTRIC POWER

Gardis SA, to provide its customers with a complete service, can supply switchboards for the distribution of Medium Voltage power, 7.2 to 24 KV.

Introduction to MV switchboards:

The MV switchboards include modular units made with metal structural work, which contain SF6 gas-insulated disconnecting and earthing devices.

The main advantages of using the aforesaid MV switchboards are: reduction in installation and maintenance times, obviously in addition to reduced overall dimensions.

The aforesaid features are obtained always maintaining a high safety level for the operator.

The switchboard is formed by a metal structure, which includes steel-plate section bars, panels and partitions joined together by means of a mechanical process.
As a whole, the structure can resist the electrodynamic stresses it has to undergo during its operation.

The disconnecting and earthing device is fastened to the above-mentioned structure; the resin casing of the device allows providing insulation between the structure and the active components.

The set of control and signalling devices is installed on the front.

An animated synoptic allows univocally establishing the position of the disconnecting switch, while a three-lamp display shows if there is voltage or not.
You can inspect inside the disconnecting switch by means of a transparent porthole, which is to be found above the control casing.

The front also includes the door to access the compartments with cables, fuses, measurements, etc.; the aforesaid door has a porthole to inspect inside the compartment when the door is closed.

The LV compartment for auxiliary services, if any, is to be found on top, above the compartment.

Personnel safety is obtained by means of mechanical interlocking systems, which aim at assuring the correct running of the equipment, and preventing involuntary errors that may endanger the operator.

Furthermore, proper metal screens prevent live components from being accessed during maintenance interventions.

You can fix the operating positions thanks to suitable key-operated locks.

THE MV switchboards are manufactured in two different versions:

Standard version: it assures the resistance to internal arc in the front of the switchboard up to 12.5 kA for 1 sec.

Version with resistance to internal arc: it assures the resistance to internal arc in the 4 sides of the compartment up to 16 kA for 1 sec.

The values that are specified below must be taken into consideration for the use of the compartments at room temperatures included between –5°C and 40°C, and for installations at altitudes that are lower than 1000 m.

Realizzata in lamiera di acciaio pressopiegata e verniciata con polveri epossidiche previa trattamento di sgrassaggio e fosfatazione.
The structure is made of galvanized steel sheets and it is treated with an epoxy powder painting in the oven.
